{"id":14188,"date":"2021-06-13T08:29:21","date_gmt":"2021-06-13T06:29:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jeducationworld.com\/?p=14188"},"modified":"2021-06-13T08:29:21","modified_gmt":"2021-06-13T06:29:21","slug":"une-nouvelle-ecole-rabbinique-francaise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jeducationworld.com\/fr\/2021\/06\/une-nouvelle-ecole-rabbinique-francaise\/","title":{"rendered":"Une nouvelle \u00e9cole rabbinique Fran\u00e7aise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Propos recueillis par Sophie Bigot-Goldblum<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ce mois-ci, nous avons rencontr\u00e9 le rabbin Tom Cohen, \u00e0 qui l\u2019on doit (avec d\u2019autres) le dernier n\u00e9 du paysage \u00e9ducatif juif en France:\u00a0 une nouvelle \u00e9cole rabbinique \u00e0 Paris.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Qu\u2019est ce qui vous a amen\u00e9 \u00e0 vous tourner vers l&#8217;\u00e9ducation?<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">C\u2019est avant tout une s\u00e9rie de rencontres lors de ma formation rabbinique. Tout d&#8217;abord, celle d&#8217;Elliott Dorff &#8211; l\u2019un des plus grands halachiste de sa g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, qui enseigna \u00e0 l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 du Juda\u00efsme en Californie o\u00f9 j&#8217;\u00e9tudiais. Il m\u2019a transmis sa passion du texte, du talmud et de la pens\u00e9e rabbinique. Je recommande vivement la lecture de ses livres. J\u2019ai aussi eu la chance de rencontrer Marshall Meyer lors de son s\u00e9jour en Californie &#8211; c\u2019est lui qui m\u2019a pouss\u00e9 au rabbinat. Disons quelques mots sur R. Meyer pour le public francophone qui ne le connaitrait pas encore.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rabbi Marshall T. Meyer \u00e9tait un rabbin Conservative (Massorti) am\u00e9ricain qui fut reconnu comme un militant des droits de l\u2019Homme d\u2019envergure mondiale pour son action\u00a0 sous la dictature Argentine. Par ailleurs, et petit clin d&#8217;\u0153il, Rabbi Meyer fonda lui aussi une \u00e9cole rabinique progressiste en Argentine, le S\u00e9minaire rabbinique d&#8217;Am\u00e9rique Latine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Quelle formation avez vous re\u00e7ue?\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">J\u2019ai commenc\u00e9 par une double licence entre l\u2019UCLA (Californie)\u00a0 et l&#8217;universit\u00e9 du juda\u00efsme avant de partir \u00e9tudier un an en Isra\u00ebl. De retour aux Etats-Unis\u00a0 j&#8217; ai fait une licence de litt\u00e9rature hebraique. Puis je suis reparti \u00e0 J\u00e9rusalem pour \u00e9tudier \u00e0 l\u2019institut <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Schechter &#8211;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">du mouvement Conservative- deux ans tout en suivant des cours \u00e0 l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 Hebraique. J\u2019ai fini mon cursus rabbinique \u00e0 JTS \u00e0 New York, et je suis\u00a0 en France depuis 1992.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">-Racontez nous un peu votre exp\u00e9rience \u00e0 votre arriv\u00e9e en France:\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">J\u2019ai commenc\u00e9 ma carri\u00e8re rabbinique a Copernic.\u00a0 A l&#8217;\u00e9poque, les femmes ne comptaient pas dans le minyan, ne lisaient pas dans la Torah. Moi, rabbin massorti et \u00e9galitaire, je ne comprenais pas ces juifs lib\u00e9raux ! J\u2019ai ensuite travaill\u00e9 \u00e0 Adath Shalom, o\u00f9 j&#8217;ai enseign\u00e9 le Talmud Torah en anglais, tout en officiant \u00e0 Lyon tous les quinze jours. Peu \u00e0 peu, j&#8217;ai commenc\u00e9 la communaut\u00e9 dans le nord-ouest de Paris, c\u2019est ainsi que Kehilat Gesher a vu le jour.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Parlez-nous de votre dernier projet :\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Depuis plusieurs ann\u00e9es, nous recrutons et envoyons des \u00e9tudiants au Leo Baeck College, le s\u00e9minaire rabbinique progressiste de Londres. Londres a l\u2019avantage d&#8217;\u00eatre au centre d\u2019un monde progressiste juif dynamique, avec une quarantaine de communaut\u00e9s. Cela permet \u00e0 nos futurs rabbins de se former directement sur le terrain, en faisant des stages.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0Nous avons commenc\u00e9 par recruter 5, 6 \u00e9tudiants, en qui nous voyions\u00a0 de potentiels \u00e9ducateurs, leaders, du monde juif francais.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Au fur et \u00e0 mesure, des difficult\u00e9s se sont pos\u00e9es. Tout d\u2019abord, des diff\u00e9rences d\u2019approches et d&#8217;int\u00e9r\u00eats entre Fran\u00e7ais et Britanniques. Nos \u00e9tudiants d\u00e9siraient une approche plus philosophique, conceptuelle. Des diff\u00e9rences culturelles aussi : Leo Beck enseigne le nussar (rite) anglais, qui est assez diff\u00e9rent du rite ashk\u00e9naze fran\u00e7ais, et bien davantage du rite sefarade. Lorsque le brexit s&#8217;est ajout\u00e9 \u00e0 tout cela, rendant les frais d\u2019inscriptions pour nos \u00e9tudiants prohibitifs, nous avons d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de sauter le pas et de fonder notre propre s\u00e9minaire en France.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cela permet non seulement de faire tomber la barri\u00e8re linguistique, qui reste un frein pour un certain nombre d&#8217;\u00e9tudiants, mais surtout cela rend possible la formation a celles et ceux qui ne peuvent s\u2019exiler aux Royaume Uni pour des raisons familiales.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Combien d&#8217;\u00e9tudiants sont actuellement en formation? Quel avenir leur pr\u00e9disez- vous?\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nous avons 11 \u00e9tudiants actuellement dans le programme, c&#8217;est-\u00e0- dire 11 futures r\u00e9formes en France : une petite r\u00e9volution! C\u2019est d&#8217;ailleurs davantage que le s\u00e9minaire orthodoxe de la rue Vauquelin.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Quant \u00e0 leurs d\u00e9bouch\u00e9s professionnels, il va y avoir dans un premier temps un remplacement naturel, un certain nombre de rabbins lib\u00e9raux francophones partent bient\u00f4t \u00e0 la retraite. C\u2019est le cas \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve, par exemple. Dans d\u2019autres, ce sont des communaut\u00e9s qui grandissent et n\u00e9cessitent d\u00e9sormais plus de personnel, comme c\u2019est le cas \u00e0 la CJL (communaut\u00e9 lib\u00e9rale du Rabbin Pauline Bebe, directrice de l\u2019Ecole rabbinique de Paris). Il y a aussi beaucoup de communaut\u00e9s en province qui cherchent des rabbins, ainsi que des communaut\u00e9s informellement attach\u00e9es au consistoire qui sont amen\u00e9es \u00e0 embaucher des rabbins habad ou de jeunes isra\u00e9liens qui ne connaissent pas la communaut\u00e9 fran\u00e7aise et qui ne correspondent pas au niveau de pratique de ces communaut\u00e9s. Certains de nos \u00e9tudiants pourraient \u00eatre une bonne option pour eux.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pour finir, avez vous une anecdote sur un moment de transmission ?\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">R\u00e9cemment, nous avons eu \u00e0 faire dans notre communaut\u00e9 \u00e0 un jeune gar\u00e7on qui pr\u00e9parait sa bar Mitvsa dans une synagogue orthodoxe. A un mois du grand \u00e9v\u00e9nement, on lui dit que sa m\u00e8re n&#8217;\u00e9tant pas juive, il ne l\u2019est pas non plus et ne peut faire de bar Mitvsa. Les parents se pr\u00e9sentent \u00e0 nous, et on &#8216;r\u00e9gularise&#8217; le gar\u00e7on, c&#8217;est-\u00e0- dire qu\u2019on le convertit. Viens le jour de la Bar Mitvsa, toute la famille paternelle arrive, elle n\u2019a jamais mis les pieds dans une synagogue lib\u00e9rale. La grand-m\u00e8re, bien que tr\u00e8s intimid\u00e9e, accepte de tenir la Torah pendant glila. Doucement, elle s\u2019est mise \u00e0 tenir la Torah comme un enfant qu\u2019elle tenait dans ses bras pour la premi\u00e8re fois. En larmes, elle a enfin, \u00e0 plus de 80 ans, pu s\u2019approcher d\u2019un Sefer Torah.
